The global consumer electronics market is approaching the trillion-dollar mark. Drone-related categories frequently appear in global popularity rankings, making drones an increasingly significant force in overseas expansion.

Research firms predict that the global consumer drone market will exceed US$13 billion by 2030, doubling from this year's level over the next five years. Once high-tech tools used widely in fields such as military operations and agriculture, drones are now reaching more everyday consumers and demonstrating substantial market potential.

As a relatively new consumer electronics category, consumer drones are becoming more widely understood and attracting many newcomers. More than half of consumers have not yet purchased one but are closely monitoring prices, while 30% have used or purchased one. Drones are more accessible than many people imagine.

Among purchasers, 64.3% buy drones for entertainment or hobbies. Only around 30% use them for marketing or professional content production, while professional mapping and surveying account for an even smaller share. This points to opportunities for beginner-friendly products that are affordable, easy to operate, lightweight, and intelligent.

Against this backdrop, HOVERAir focuses on mainstream consumers, starting with everyday use cases to better meet ordinary people's needs for recording and creating content. Founder Wang Mengqiu has said that more than 90% of content creators' aerial filming needs can be met within a range of 500 meters to one kilometer. A flying camera designed for spontaneous recording is therefore a better fit than professional cameras emphasizing long range and high precision.
Based on this insight, HOVERAir has focused drone development on making its products smaller, lighter, and smarter, putting a flying photographer in the user's pocket. With no need to constantly monitor the controls, users can launch it with a single tap and enjoy capturing their lives.

HOVERAir has also targeted overseas markets amid the wave of consumer electronics brands expanding internationally. To gain traction quickly, it began launching crowdfunding campaigns in different countries and regions in 2022. This supported initial promotion for new products, rapidly attracted international attention, and built trust among users worldwide.

There are currently more than 500 million cycling enthusiasts and over 130 million skiing enthusiasts worldwide, with more than 60% of enthusiasts in Europe and North America. HOVERAir initially targeted these sports communities, repeatedly featuring roads and ski slopes in its promotional headers. It also addresses enthusiasts directly in the second person to inspire aspiration and participation.

After defining its positioning around sports enthusiasts, HOVERAir focused its influencer marketing on specialist creators. It selected professional technology KOLs and outdoor creators specializing in activities such as cycling and skiing in Europe and North America whose content closely matched the product.
One example is US-based skateboarding enthusiast Ricky Glaser, who uses a range of filming equipment to showcase his skateboarding skills. In his videos, he tests the product in different environments, reviewing its specifications, functions, and modes. This generates substantial exposure and anticipation among followers.

Beyond promotion through common content channels, HOVERAir has made Facebook groups a central hub for user interaction, attracting more than 10,000 members. Branded topic challenges encourage users to share purchases, reviews, and discussions, keeping the community active. Community marketing turns users into co-creators and advocates for the brand, building trust while providing precise insights into user needs to inform product improvements.

HOVERAir's overseas marketing experience can be summarized as a combination of crowdfunding, use-case-based content, influencer marketing, and active community engagement.
